Palm oil prices remain firm, particularly in east India | News

On January 2, India had moved refined palm oil imports from free to restricted category to protect domestic refiners. The commerce ministry said the move would help India encourage import of more crude oils and facilitate better utilisation of the refining capacity of the domestic industry. India has been importing 150,000-200,000 tonnes of refined oil annually.
