As per Panasonic India’s latest regulatory filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) accessed through business intelligence platform Veratech Intelligence, revenue from operation dropped 10.6% year on year in 2018-19 at Rs 4,758.62 crore, while its net loss more than tripled at Rs 459.58 crore against Rs 131.88 crore in FY18.
"Godrej Appliances is all set to invest another Rs 700 crore by 2022. This latest announcement takes the tally of Godrej Appliances' investment in capacity and technology expansion to Rs 1,100 Crore over a period of six years," the Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co unit said.
The market is expected to see acceleration in growth on account of surging rural consumption, reducing replacement cycles, increasing penetration of retail, a wide choice of brands and products at various price points. The industry had a total market size of Rs 76,400 crore in 2018-19, in which Rs 32,200 crore was contributed from domestic manufacturing.
