What are the most successful ways to make any business profitable? Finding a niche? Maybe. Driving sales? Absolutely. But there is one aspect of running a business that can transform your entire balance sheet—efficiently planning the operations. Energy-efficiency models hold the potential to not only improve operations for higher productivity, but also help save millions for any business. There are multiple cases where businesses have saved millions of rupees by making smaller changes in their processes. And energy-efficiency technologies play a crucial role in driving this change.

At a time where there is intense competition in every industry, and multiple start-ups are challenging the traditional models of running a business, turning to energy efficiency for cost savings while also managing your carbon footprint can have long-standing benefits. The pros of turning towards a more energy-efficient business model clearly outweighs the hurdles that may lie in the way. But how much can an energy-efficient business model really help?

    Profitability of Energy Efficiency
This question was answered when India’s leading cement manufacturer, JK Cement, was looking for ways to combat the operational challenges they faced in one of their plants in Jhajjar District, Haryana. The factory was facing some issues with the cement-manufacturing equipment that they heavily use - concentrator ball mills. The machines were experiencing a poor oil drain interval (ODI), which in turn makes them consume more oil. This was leading to the loss of 420 litres of oil every year. While the machine still had an efficiency level of 92-93%, the oil wastage was contributing to environmental pollution.

This is when the energy giant ExxonMobil came to the rescue. Under the Mobil Planned Engineering Service (PES) program offered to enhance operational productivity, expert Mobil engineers studied the application of the conventional gear oil being used in the Jhajjar plant and came up with an easy solution. The team suggested replacing the conventional lubricant with Mobil SHC 632, an advanced gear oil. This simple switch not only helped the plant improve gearbox efficiency by almost 1%, but also helped extend the gearbox ODI. The end result? JK Cement managed to save Rs 13,42,920 by a simple switch to Mobil SHC 632!

Mobil SHC 632: A Breakthrough Lubricant for Optimum Results
Mobil SHC 632 is a scientifically engineered premium-quality gear oil that improves machine efficiency which translates to energy savings. In simple words, it ensures that the machine functions at its optimal level, thereby causing lower emissions, and reducing the overall carbon footprint of the business.

Considering oils and lubricants offer considerable scope for energy improvement, switching to more energy-efficient option is highly beneficial for companies who are focused on being more environmentally responsible brands. When energy-efficient technologies combine with the best operating practices, it leads to higher productivity and significantly lower environmental risks, especially for energy-intensive industries. And following sustainable business practices is easier than before with market leaders like ExxonMobil consistently striving to develop new-age industrial formulas using futuristic technology, besides providing specialist engineering services to improve your bottom line.

    The Larger Picture
If you analyse the cement sector in India alone, the importance of energy efficiency can be easily decoded. In 2018, India boasted of being the second-largest cement industry in the world, with a production capacity of 502 million tonnes per year. While the opportunities in the industry continue to grow, with an increased demand for infrastructure, housing and so on, the competition is still cut-throat with a relentless focus on cleaner operations.

In this industry, saving up as much as Rs 13,42,920 on one plant merely by switching to a better-performing lubricant is no mean feat. It is also a reliable and easy way of cutting costs. Moreover, the environmental benefits of this easy switch should further encourage businesses to take their cue and focus more on energy efficiency. The global marketplace is increasingly aware of the benefits of sustainable business operations. Every step towards energy efficiency is a step towards a cleaner future that every responsible business is obliged to build. And new-age Mobil lubricants, in tandem with other efficiency technologies, bring you the best of both worlds—higher performance as well as reduced business and environmental costs.

This is a good positive way. Many resort to cheating on quality.Economic power has to be counter-balanced with economic liability for defective goods and services.Restitution should be that balancing principle.
