A technology startup, DotPe provides digital transformation and commerce solutions to restaurants and F&B brands. The company said by offering its QR code and WhatsApp based scan-order-pay solution with direct communication and digital ordering management technology, it can assist restaurants ensure streamlined business operations while following social distancing norms and can help make customers feel safe while ordering and settling their bills. As part of its association with McDonald’s India – North and East, DotPe said it has placed the QR code across all key restaurants, and the store managers will guide the customers on its usage.
Customers can scan the QR code displayed in the restaurants from their mobile phones and can view the menu through their phone browsers like an e-commerce catalogue. The customers can order from the catalogue while remaining seated and can make the payment through the phone using mediums including UPI, PayTM, Google Pay or cards. The order-related communication will take place over the customer’s WhatsApp number, from the WhatsApp business account of McDonald’s. Once the order is ready, customers can pick up their order from the counter as takeaway or dine-in in the restaurant.

"With DotPe’s scan-order-pay technology, we are committed to providing a safe and contactless experience to our customers.”
DotPe said it envisions onboarding five lakh merchants by December 2020 to leverage its contactless dining solutions.
