Government think-tank Niti Aayog's CEO, in an exclusive interview, stressed on the need to implement payroll reporting for a more accurate picture of jobs in the country. Amid concerns over job creation in India, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that there should be a solid framework to keep a track of job creation in the country, adding that it can only be achieved through payroll reporting. During the interview to ET NOW, he said, "98.6% enterprises are left out of Labour Board Bureau and does not capture new job creation." Kant's comments came after an SBI report indicated that employment growth in the country in grossly under-rated and the concerns around job creation are totally misplaced.
