Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who became 2019's fourth highest-paid actor in the world according to Forbes, is winning hearts with his performance in 'Mission Mangal'.
Apart from his highest grossing film so far, the other movies have kept the cash registers ringing for the past few years.
From 'Kesari' to 'Housefull' series, 12 of Kumar's movies have entered the Rs 100-crore club, and taken the box office by storm.
On his 52nd birthday, here's a look at the blockbusters by Khiladi of Bollywood.
'Mission Mangal' (2019)
Currently at Rs 193.14 crore, Akshay Kumar's highest grossing film, 'Mission Mangal', is all set to cross enter the Rs 200 crore-club. The movie was also minted the biggest opener after its release last month. The film managed to earn Rs 128.16 crore in just right days.
Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film also stars Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen. The multi-starrer film is based on Indian Space Research Organisation's 2013 Mars Orbiter Mission, also called Mangalyaan.
'Kesari' crossed the Rs 100-crore mark worldwide in its opening weekend earlier this year. The movie has managed to earn a total of over Rs 151 crore.
'2.0' - the sequel to 'Robot' - which was Akshay Kumar’s entry into the South Indian film industry, kept the cash registers ringing. The Hindi version of Rajnikanth-starrer '2.0' earned over Rs 185 crore.
Within two weeks of its release, the movie entered the Rs 100-crore club. The movie also made history by being the first Bollywood film to release in Saudi Arabia. 'Gold' is the fictional story of the India's iconic win at the 1948 London Olympics, featuring stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Vineet Kumar Singh.
'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' (2017)
The Akshay Kumar-starrer earned a total of Rs 134.22 crore at the box office. The Shree Narayan Singh directorial got a 'much larger' opening in China than previously released Bollywood movies like 'Hindi Medium' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' is a satirical comedy in support of PM Narendra Modi's campaign to improve sanitation conditions in India. After massive success of the movie, Kumar will return with 'Toilet 2'.
'Jolly LLB 2' (2017)
The movie earned Rs 117 crore at the box office, and thrives on the comic timing of Akshay Kumar. The Subhash Kapoor directorial has a well balance of humour with a well-written screenplay.
Akshay Kumar won a National Award or his performance in this action-drama. The movie raked Rs 127.49 crore at the box office. It is based on true events about a man who manages to uphold his and the nation's integrity.
'Housefull 3' (2016)
The Housefull franchise has been the audience favourite or quite some time. The Sajid Khan directorial minted Rs 109.14 crore at the box office. The film is a laughter riot, starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon.
Raja Krishna Menon directorial earned Rs 128.1 crore at the box office. The movie is based on a true event during the time of Gulf War when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990. The thriller has a whiff of 'Argo' featuring Ben Affleck.
'Holiday - A Soldier is Never Off Duty' (2014)
AR Murugadoss directorial raked Rs 112.45 crore at the box office. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. The fictional action movie revolved around the story of military officers who are on a vacation, and have to track down the terrorist who is planning a sleeper-cell terrorist-activity in Mumbai.
'Housefull 2' (2012)
After the success of 'Houseull', Sajid Khan came up with this multi-starrer comedy with Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade. The movie managed to make Rs 106 crore at the box office.
'Rowdy Rathore' (2012)
The Prabhudheva movie, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, minted Rs 133.25 crore at the box office. The fictional drama is about a small-town conman who is protecting his loved ones after becoming the object of life threatening attacks by criminals.
