The segment already has a few players including GE, Wyze, Wipro. The FCC filing made by Ring stipulates that its latest product has Bluetooth but was not clear about whether it will feature a built-in motion detector system or whether it will borrow technology from other products in the Ring stable.
The company has previously manufactured standalone lighting systems to complement its security camera products. These include integrated motion sensors on floodlights and path lights that help the security cameras in capturing activity in the target area.
Those products require a Ring Bridge accessory to link up with other devices, but the preliminary filing the FCC does not show whether the latest smart bulbs will be able to function without the ancillary product.

By coupling its lighting systems with the security hardware, it seems like Amazon isn’t looking for a direct fight with home lighting systems like the Philips Hue, but the situation could change depending on how the market views the upcoming product.

Amazon caused a few gasps at its Alexa event Thursday when it revealed it had 70 things to announce.
The new products give Amazon a greater reach than ever before.
Updates to the internet giant's Alexa-infused Echo smart speakers will allow them to tend to microwave cooking and even have "hunches" regarding what users may want or have forgotten.
Alexa is even developing a personality, complete with a favorite pet or beer.
