Apple Watch Series 5 with 'Always-On' display starting at $399; 10.2-inch 7th Gen iPad at $329

The Watch 5 will be available on September 20, and the new iPad starting September 30.

CUPERTINO (CALIFORNIA): Apple on Tuesday launched Apple Watch Series 5, debuting an "Always-On Retina" display, several new health features and international emergency calling that allows customers to call emergency services directly from Apple Watch in over 150 countries, even without an iPhone nearby.

Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) starts at $399 (Rs 40,900 in India) and Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) starts at $499 (Rs 49,900 in India). The popular Series 3 (GPS), with built-in GPS, optical heart rate sensor and water resistance, starts at a new low price of $199 (Rs 20,900 in India) and Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) is $299 (Rs 29,900 in India).

Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) is available to order now, with availability beginning September 20 in the US and 38 other countries and regions.

The new display shows time and important information at all times. The device will be available in a wider range of materials, including the all-new casing - titanium and ceramic.

The newest Watch 5 will come with features like built-in compass, built-in GPS, optical heart rate sensor and water resistance. The latest smartwatch model will offer an 18-hour battery life, according to the tech giant. It will soon be available with Apple Authorised Resellers.

"We've seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers' lives and we're excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6," said Jeff Williams, Apple's Chief Operating Officer.

For added personal safety while travelling, users with cellular models of Apple Watch Series 5 can now complete international calls to emergency services, regardless of where the device was originally purchased or if the cellular plan has been activated.

New location features, from a built-in compass to current elevation, help users better navigate their day. Apple Watch Series 5 is available in a wider range of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, ceramic and an all-new titanium variant.

Combined with the power of watchOS 6, users are empowered to take charge of their health and fitness with new features like Cycle Tracking, the Noise app and Activity Trends.

Apple also introduced new version of the most popular seventh-generation iPad with a slightly bigger screen starting at $329 (Rs 29,900 in India).

The upgraded iPad features a stunning 10.2-inch Retina display and the latest innovations including Apple Pencil2 support, the fast A10 Fusion chip, advanced cameras and sensors, unmatched portability and connectivity, ease of use and great all-day battery life. The new device has more screen area, and support for the full-sized Smart Keyboard.

The new iPad is available to order starting now and in stores starting September 30.

The new 10.2-inch Retina display iPad has nearly 3.5 million pixels and a wide viewing angle making it a vivid canvas for creative expression and perfect for immersive augmented reality (AR) experiences that take advantage of its enhanced cameras and advanced sensors.

Featuring the powerful A10 Fusion chip, the new seventh-generation iPad brings up to two times faster performance over the top-selling Windows PC4 for powerful multitasking and smooth gameplay in Apple Arcade.
