Researches in Japan have unveiled a concept car built with cellulose nano fibre — a material made from wood, agricultural waste and other organic materials. Here is a look at cars made of other unique materials:

Duroplast (TRABANT)

Former East German automobile manufacturer VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau created Trabant cars using a hard plastic known as Duroplast. The plastic was made from recycled stuff including pressed cotton fibres, synthetic resins and rags from the Soviet Union. It was in production from 1957 to 1990.
