Boney Kapoor thrilled after Ajith Kumar fulfils promise made to Sridevi in 2012

Kapoor's maiden Tamil production 'Nerkonda Paarvai' made its debut in Singapore.

NEW DELHI: Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, who is known for movie like 'Mr. India', 'Wanted' and 'Mom', has finally entered the Tamil film industry with a bang.

On Tuesday, the 65-year-old's maiden Tamil production venture 'Nerkonda Paarvai' made its debut in Singapore. But what this premiere was, his promise to fulfil his late actress-wife's (Sridevi) dream.

The film-maker shared this news on Twitter, and wrote, "I am truly blessed 9 am IST today Premiere Show of 'Nerkonda Paarvai' will start in Singapore. I have managed to fulfil my wife Sridevi Kapoor's dream. It couldn't have been possible without the support of Ajith Kumar, entire cast and technicians. I shall always cherish this."

The reports suggested that Tamil actor Ajith had promised Sridevi (during the shooting for 2012 film 'English Vinglish') that he will do a film with her husband.

'Nerkonda Paarvai' is the Tamil remake of the courtroom drama "Pink". The film also stars Vidya Balan, Mahat Raghavendra, Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang and Abhirami Venkatachalam, among others.

Dulquer Salmaan's "O Kadhal Kanmani" co-star Nithya Menen has also bagged her first Bollywood film - "Mission Mangal"."In the past also, I was offered plenty of Hindi films. I just wanted to be as choosy with Hindi as I was with films in other languages that I have done. I wanted it (debut Hindi film) to be a really nice film," Nithya told IANS."I found this a nice character.
