CES: Samsung unveils bezel-less QLED 8K TV

The South Korean tech giant has paid extra attention to detail when it comes to audio.

Taking the screen experience at home to a whole new level, Samsung unveiled its next-generation QLED 8K smart TV at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The Infinity design of the 2020 QLED 8K TV eliminates the screen bezel, setting a new standard for displays. The TV uses up to 99 per cent of the screen.

Featuring a 15mm ultra-slim design, the TV also comes with an AI quantum processor that combines machine learning and deep learning to enhance the upscaling function, that changes the image quality to 8K regardless of the original picture quality .

The South Korean tech giant is also making it simpler to watch television in any kind of light, so you don't have to worry about drawing the curtains when the sun is shining bright.


The TV's 'Adaptive Picture' feature identifies the environment and automatically adjusts the screen brightness and contrast for a better viewing experience.

Samsung has paid extra attention to detail when it comes to audio. The TV's 'OTS + (Object Tracking Sound Plus)' technology recognise moving objects in videos, and accordingly moves the sound on the speakers.

There's also an AVA (Active Voice Amplifier) feature that recognises ambient noise and adjusts the volume of TV accordingly.

When it comes to functionality, the TV has a multi view feature to be able to watch two sources of content at the same time.

Users can now just touch their smartphone to the TV to mirror it using the new Tap View feature. Samsung has also introduced a Digital Butler function that will let the TV recognise and control older devices not connected to the Internet.

The company has also expanded its range of voice assistant with the 2020 QLED 8K. Now, in addition to Samsung Bixby, users can also access Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
