A day after actress-BJP MP Hema Malini was spotted picking up a broom and participating in a cleanliness drive in Parliament premises, her actor-husband Dharmendra Deol joined Twitterati and trolled his wife. The 83-year-old was asked if his wife has ever picked up a broom in her life.

The 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' actor responded in Hindi, "Yes, in films. She looked like a beginner to me too. I helped my mother during my childhood with household chores and I was very efficient at sweeping with brooms."

The actor went on to express his love for cleanliness with three green leaves. His hilarious take garnered over 400 likes on the micro-blogging platform. He went on to encourage people to praise his wife's action and make an effort to imbibe it in their life.

"Ek paigam toh hai. Keep your Country Clean. Hema ke paigan par amal karo. My humble request to you all, feel from your soul for our New India," he wrote.

Earlier on Wednesday, the actor contradicted his own tweet by saying that he will 'never speak about the broom'.

Malini, a BJP MP from Mathura, was spotted cleaning Parliament premises with a broom. She was accompanied by BJP minister Anurag Thakur, leaders from the opposition like NCP chief Omar Abdullah.

The Dream Girl of Bollywood was trolled on Twitter for engaging in a cleanliness drive. The actress seemed to be an fresher in the task and received flak for the seemingly trying to get publicity.
