For Alchemy Group CEO Karan Gupta, being fit is a combination of mental and physical fitness. He told ET Panache, "I start my day by spending 30-40 minutes in the morning by myself. I clear my thoughts and plan my agenda for the day along with some breathing exercises."

With the current lockdown situation, the digital media boss said he stays physically fit with a few freehand exercises and some Yoga Asanas (exercises) for overall flexibility.

"I usually try to include a 5k solo run on normal days. Diet, too, plays a very important role in my daily routine. I don’t follow any strict diet per say. However, I ensure I stay sufficiently full during the day, and try not to binge eat or skip meals. A cheat meal once a week is my guilt-free indulgence," he said.

Since it's absolutely essential to maintain social distancing in the current scenario, workout routines have surely gone for a toss. However, it is also imperative to engage in some form of physical fitness to keep your body and mind active, feels Gupta.

"I have always been a fan of open air workouts. Find a place in your house, your building compound or terrace where you can exercise. Use equipment which is handy and easily available like skipping ropes. Make a family member your workout buddy to make it less boring. For me, my son is my workout partner. It's great fun to have your child being a part of your workout routine," he shared.

Gupta says he follows a simple motto - happy inside, happy outside. "Overall fitness adds to my ability to handle challenges and pressures without feeling burnt out. It also helps me keep my mind fresh and active which is a 24X7 requirement of the job. Staying fit and eating right automatically makes you feel good and positive. It enables you to focus on your vision with a clear mindset and thought process," he said.

There are some lessons also that the Alchemy Group CEO has learnt from his love for working out. "Take a breather! Exercise is very much like one’s work. Continuity and consistency are the key. It is about channelising your energy for effective use of mind and body towards improving one’s overall wellness. The same applies to work as well. You should channelise all your energy to focus on tasks to be completed through the day and objectives to be met," he shared.

Move, Make or Mingle - the 3M principle is something Gupta urges everyone to apply whether they are at home or in the office. He credits it with being something that has kept him going throughout.
