For the love of hustle & reading: Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Cleartrip boss rewind to the days of comic books

Recently, an offshoot of a Twitter thread took some entrepreneurs down memory lane, back to the simple joys of reading a comic book.

If there’s one thing these founders have in common, it’s a love for comic books that got started at an early age.

Recently, an offshoot of a Twitter thread on spending vs. investing got founders reminiscing about their pocket money in the 1980s and how they would set aside a little portion to indulge their passion for comic books.


Even Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma chimed in with how he used to rent three comic books a day for Rs. 1, while Cleartrip co-founder Hrush Bhatt attributed his ICSE score to his love for reading comics.



Starting Young
For some of these founders, it was their love for reading comics that taught them to think outside the box at a relatively young age.

Kunal Shah, founder of FreeCharge and CRED, said he would often read comics while standing at the book rental stall because he read more comics in a day than he could afford to rent.


A few other entrepreneurs and Twitter users shared their hacks for reading more comic books than they could afford.
