Justin Bieber confirms he has Lyme disease; Hailey slams trolls for being insensitive

The singer shared a photo of an article on his health on Instagram and confirmed the rumours.

Hailey Bieber (right) took to Twitter to slam trolls who mocked how her husband, Justin Bieber (left), 'looks'.
Singer Justin Bieber took to Instagram to announce that he was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, and a 'serious case' of chronic mono (Chronic infectious mononucleosis). Bieber’s battle with the two diseases will be explored in his upcoming YouTube docu-series.

The singer shared a photo of an article on his health on Instagram, confirming that he, as a matter fact, does suffer from Lyme disease. In a long, heartfelt caption, Justin called out the trolls, who have been criticizing the way he ‘looks’ and clarified that the changes in his appearance were due to the disease.

“While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like s***, on meth etc. they failed to realize I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease”, wrote the 25-year-old. The ‘Baby’ hitmaker ended on a positive and hopeful note, writing, “I will be back and better than ever.”

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection, which leads to redness on the skin in addition to fever, headache and tiredness.

Justin's wife, model Hailey Bieber, called out trolls downplaying the 'severity' of the disease without researching the subject. She took to Twitter to voice her angst.

She also thanked models Yolanda Hadid, Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid for "bringing me so much clarity and information on Lyme disease and for helping answer my questions about course of action, symptoms etc."

Hailey also thanked singer Avril Lavigne for educating people about the disease.

For the unversed, Yolanda, Bella and Avril also suffer from Lyme disease.

In the past, several Hollywood celebs have talked about their struggle with the disease including singer Shania Twain, and actors Alec Baldwin and Ben Stiller.
