A few days after his 31st birthday, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, has earned a new fan and a cute one, at that. In an Instagram video uploaded by Candice Warner, the wife of the Australian opener David Warner, their daughter can be seen playing cricket at her home with daddy dearest.

The 5-year-old girl is holding a bat in the video, ready to face one of her dad’s deliveries. As she hits the ball with the bat, she chuckles, and says, “‘I’m Virat Kohli’”.

Candice Warner posted the video on Instagram and captioned it, “This little girl has spent too much time in India. Wants to be Virat Kohli.”

While her own dad is unarguably one of the best batsmen in limited-overs cricket,it seems like the Indian batsman and all-rounder, has a special place in Ivy Mae’s heart.

The video pulled at the heartstrings of several Twitter users and they couldn’t help but adore the young girl for her innocence and cuteness.

Some Twitter users pointed out that Mae’s daddy is a pretty good batsman, too!

These Twitter users lauded the fiery spirit of the little champ and wished her luck for the future.

Needless to say, Mae is not the only young fan Kohli has. The 31-year-old is a role model for all the young kids who wish to make a career in cricket.

Now that the batsman has earned another young and adorable fan, it will be interesting to see the cricketer set new examples for children who absolutely adore him.

A Bad Boy With A Good Heart

5 Nov, 2019
It was in the year 2011 during India’s tour of Australia that Virat Kohli had an intense verbal duel with the Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson. Sure, Aussies are known for their provoking nature but Virat’s hot-headed temperament did not help the cause either. The fight got so intense that Captain Ricky Ponting had to pull Virat out of the argument. There is no denying that there have been plenty of instances of the Indian skipper getting aggressive on-field, be it him sparring with cricketer Gautam Gambhir during IPL 2013, or hurling abuses at Pakistani bowlers at the Asia Cup in 2012.But, as the years passed, we saw Kohli grow up and become a kind-hearted, responsible man. Fast forward to 2019, our favourite cricketer is now a good Samaritan who respects boundaries and has the courage to speak up for the right. As the cricketer turns 31, we take a look back at some of the instances when Virat behaved like a true blue gentleman and won the hearts of all Indians.
