“I talked about this recently at the Ellis Island Awards. I don’t think that any of the discussions have necessarily changed the goals of people, whether they’re born here or coming to America to pursue a career or a dream. I believe this country gives you opportunities based on what you do and how you do it, not what you look like and where you come from. For that I am grateful — for both me and my family. We need to find ways to embrace the value and talent immigrants have to offer — not the least of which is their diversity. Their diverse perspectives and experiences make us stronger.”
