Mi Men’s Sports Shoes 2
Price: Rs 2,999

Next time you’re there, take a look at the price tags on some of the sports shoes in the mall. Does it actually cost that much to make shoes? Not to worry, because Xiaomi’s at it again - quality that’s unquestionable, an amazing design, super comfortable and wafer-slim 5% margins that keeps the price down to Rs 2,999. Some were even lucky enough to snag the introductory offer of Rs 2,499.

Contrary to what you may think, there’s no smart component in these shoes - no activity tracker, Bluetooth or step counter. Those things are in the Mi Smart Shoes and they may launch later. Instead, Mi men’s Sports Shoes 2 are satisfied with being really, really good value for walking, jogging, running and everyday use. They don’t have very small sizes hence the ‘men’s shoes’ tag. But they can work unisex as long as you get them in your size.

Aside from the unnecessarily long name, the shoes have the popular breathable mesh upper design, a 5-layer design with synthetic rubber outsole and a unique 10-fishbone structure that securely cradles the foot in the relatively loose confines of the mesh fabric. We think they look great too. Compared to a pair of big brand shoes that cost thrice as much, they feel just as secure and just as comfortable. Plus, they’re machine washable. Many people won’t bat an eyelid when spending upwards of Rs 10,000 on a pair of sports shoes. Well, you could buy all three colours of this shoe (grey, blue and black) and still come out on top!
