NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is all set to make your festive season special.

The premium smartphone company made an official announcement on Twitter about the much-anticipated OnePlus 7T series with a small teaser video. The series will launch on Thursday in New Delhi at 7 PM IST.

According to the speculations, OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro will be incremental upgrades to the current line-up. Both models are expected to come with Snapdragon 855 SoC chipset, 16MP ultra-wide camera, AMOLED screens, 8GB RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, in-display fingerprint sensor, and a fast-charging battery.

In terms of display, OnePlus 7T is likely to feature a 6.55-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90hz refresh rate and a smaller notch which is an upgrade over the 6.4-inch 60Hz FHD+ Optic AMOLED display on the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7T Pro is rumoured to have a larger 6.65-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

In terms of optics, the device would retain a 16MP selfie shooter, and the 48MP main camera at the back will now be joined by 16MP and 12MP units. Unlike Apple's iPhone 11 Pro, the smartphone's rear camera will come in a circular dial. The 7T Pro is expected to sport a triple-camera setup with a primary 48MP sensor, an 8MP telephoto unit with 3x zoom, 16MP ultra-wide sensor. The cameras would be able to record wide-angle and 960 FPS slow-mo videos.

The 7T would house a slightly bigger 3800mAh battery against OnePlus 7's 3700mAh. Meanwhile, the 7T Pro is likely to be packed with 4,085mAh battery with "Warp Charge 30T" charging support.

The devices are likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, and support up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. As per reports, the devices would come in frosted silver and haze blue colours and the company would also offer free cloud storage for a year.

Some leaks suggest, the devices will be available for purchase on Amazon's Great Indian Festival sale at the end of this month. The Amazon sale will begin on Sunday and go on till October 4. However, Prime members will get access to the sale a day before.

Pete Lau, CEO and founder of OnePlus, shared the first look of the 7T's packaging on Twitter. He confirmed that the company has tried the OnePlus 1 design for the pakaging this time. The caption read, "Red and bold, a return to the OnePlus One’s visual design."

Lau has been bragging about the 'silky smooth' OS on social media. Twitter also unveiled a special emoji for the OnePlus operating system. It appears when the #OxygenOS hashtag is used.

Apart from the OnePlus 7T series, OnePlus will also launch its first-ever TV on Thursday. In an interview to ETPanache last month, Lau said that OnePlus TV will be positioned in the premium segment, and come with a 55-inch screen and QLED panel.
