Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the world’s most admired Indian according to an annual study by YouGov, an internet-based market research and data analytics firm headquartered in UK. The survey, conducted through online voting, lists the world’s most admired men and women, and while Modi holds the highest position of all the Indians on the list, his global ranking is number six.

Modi is the only Indian politician on the list. The remainder of the Indian presence is made up only of Bollywood actors. No Indian businessman or sports star made the cut.

Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan are on the top 20 most admired men list. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and former beauty queens Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai were on the top 20 women list.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is the world’s most admired man, with former US President Barack Obama taking up the second spot on the list. His wife and former First Lady of the US, Michelle however topped the women’s rankings.

The Obamas aren’t the only power couple on the list. They have company in China President Xi Jinping and wife Peng Liyuan.

And then there were the wives who made the cut, while their husbands sat this one out. It appears that Hillary Clinton and Melania Trump are two of the world’s most admired women. But their husbands, who have been occupants of the Oval Office at the White House, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, respectively, did not make it to the list.
