‘Howdy, Modi’ becomes top trend on Twitter; Vivek Oberoi, Anupam Kher cheer India's 'rockstar' PM

B-town celebrities, in awe of PM Modi, hailed the world leader as he created history.

Vivek Oberoi and Anupam Kher cheered PM Modi and called him a rockstar.
Sunday was all about 'Howdy, Modi' and 'Ab ki baar Trump sarkar' chants. Two of the world's greatest leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and American President, Donald Trump, took to the stage at the NRG Stadium in Houston to address the world. Amidst loud cheers from fans, PM Modi was all praise for Trump who will be contesting presidential elections again. The event, which was also about strengthening ties between the two countries, witnessed brilliant performances by Indian-Americans. While some cheered the two leaders at the event, others took to Twitter to laud them. B-town celebrities, in awe of PM Modi, hailed the world leader as he created history alongside one of the most-powerful men in the world. It was only a matter of time before 'Howdy, Modi' became one of the top trends on Twitter.

Kapoor, who recently returned to India after receiving treatment in New York, expressed pride in being an Indian. He wrote, "#howdymodi 'Go Modi' - 'Go Trump' - Houston, US. Proud of our being. Proud of the community. Proud of India."



Khan, too, expressed joy at India and US shook hands to form a great association.



'New Amsterdam' star Anupam Kher, tweeted about the spectacular sight where 50,000 Indian-Americans cheered for PM Modi. Calling it a historical and emotional moment, Kher reiterated that he had never seen such a bonding between two countries.



Actor Vivek Oberoi, while hailing statesmanship, thanked PM Modi for making his country proud once again.



Actor Akshay Kumar, while retweeting a video shared by PM Modi, was elated to see that millions of Indians were present at the event. Kumar reiterated that with this, India has arrived at the global level.



Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairperson Prasoon Joshi tweeted about an PM Modi's focused speech at the event.



Impressed with PM Modi's solid address, director Karan Johar enjoyed a 'proud Indian' moment.




Cricketer-turned-MP Gautam Gambhir hailed PM Modi as a leader of 1.3 billion people.



'Manmarziyaan' star Abhishek Bachchan retweeted a video from the PMO Twitter handle and posted it with the Proud Indian hashtag.



Ajay Devgn, on Twitter, congratulated the two countries for a definitive and positive step.



Randeep Hooda, too, expressed pride in being an Indian as PM Modi set the stage on fire in Texas.






Stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj, who shared a picture from outside the stadium, couldn't stop himself from tweeting about the same. While Minhaj is often critical of the NDA government, he seemed to have a different perspective this time.



Hailing the 'ultimate' moment, singer Adnan Sami called PM Modi a rockstar. He also tweeted a few pictures of PM Modi from the event.
