    Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer, flies to the US for treatment, say reports

    NEW DELHI: On late Tuesday night, film journalist and trade analyst Komal Nahta sent out a tweet announcing that actor Sanjay Dutt, best known for appearing in films like 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' and 'Kalank', has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

    “Not the new dreaded ‘C’ (coronavirus), it’s the other dreaded ‘C’, cancer, that Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with,” Nahta tweeted.

    A day after being discharged from the hospital where he was admitted after complaints of breathlessness, Dutt, on Tuesday, said that he will be taking a "short break from work" due to some medical treatment.

    The 61-year-old actor, who was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital over the weekend, requested well-wishers not to worry or speculate.


    According to a Times of India report, the actor is worried about his children, who happen to be in Dubai with their mother, Mannayata Dutt. Quoting Dutt's friend, the report states that the cancer is curable and that the actor will leave for US for treatment immediately.

    Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who has also struggled with cancer, sent out a tweet writing, "You are, have and always will be a fighter @duttsanjay ."

    Right after 2011 World Cup victory, Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his left lung. After three intensive cycles of Chemotherapy, he flew back to India and recovered fully.

    "I know the pain it causes but I also know you are strong and will see this tough phase through," wrote Yuvraj.


    On the work front, Dutt will next feature in ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. The actor unveiled his first look poster on his birthday.
