Hari Menon, co-founder of
BigBasket, is thick friends with Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety. So thick, in fact, that the two use each other as sounding boards for ideas. At the sidelines of a recent event, Menon shared an anecdote to explain how they bounce ideas off each other.
“When he started [Swiggy] in 2011, he was doing something in logistics. He was into some trucking business. One day he came running to my office and asked, ‘Hari, what do you think of this and what do you think of that?’ He came with his other co-founder a little while later, and they decided to start their operations. Harsha is an inspiring story,” Menon told ETPanache.
The friendship between the two bosses goes back to their days at BITS,
Pilani, where Menon was Majety’s senior.
