It’s been a few months since Akash Sinha returned from a vacation in Vietnam, but the co-founder of Cashfree is still in awe of the country’s efforts at preserving its natural heritage. “I liked what they have done to preserve their ecology and ancient structures. They have constructed buildings in a way that conserves the natural environment and culture,” he told ETPanache.

The trip started in the capital city Hanoi. “It has beautiful colonial architecture and historical monuments dating back centuries. It was captivating to see how ancient heritage mixes with the cosmopolitan life here,” he said. He particularly liked the Beer Street at Old Quarter, a 266-metre stretch also known as Ta Hien.

“Traffic comes to a standstill in the evenings and the locals put out chairs around a long table that stretches down the street. Travellers from all over the world join locals, and they all eat and drink together, learning about each other’s cultures,” he shared.
