The Wait Is Almost Over: Everything We Know About Pixel 4 Ahead Of The Big Launch
The Wait Is Over
A month after Apple’s mega-event, tech enthusiasts the world over are now waiting with bated breath for the launch of Google’s flagship devices, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL.. The two smartphones are the latest offering from the tech giant after last year’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL.
The rumour mills have been working overtime, and the Internet is abuzz with speculations ranging from the phone’s specifications to the colour variants it will be available in .
We have been keeping an eye out on all the rumours and leaks, and have compiled them in one place.
As the countdown to the big event begins, here’s everything you need to know about the much-awaited Pixel 4 and 4 XL.
Orange Is The New Black
Black is so passé and orange is the new ‘cool’. This is not a ‘leak’ per se because Google confirmed the news via a billboard at Times Square in New York. The billboard showed the phones in orange colour, indicating that either the Pixel 4 or 4 XL will be available in the hue. This also verified the authenticity of an unofficial image posted on Chinese social network Weibo that showed an orange Pixel 4. (Image: Reddit/LousyTx)
Sleek, Chic And Uber-Cool Design
The Pixel 4 is likely to sport a 2 rear cameras in a square setup. Leaked images of the phone show a minimalist design with no notch, large foreheads and small chins. The handset is also likely to skip the fingerprint sensor and come with support for Face-ID. Rumours suggest that there will be no front-facing dual speakers. (Image: YouTube/ Made By Google)
A Face-ID With Motion Sensors
Much like Apple’s Face-ID, Pixel 4 is expected to have a face unlock system that can also be used to secure digital payments. The device will be powered by a Soli Radar chip that can sense motion, and allow the user to snooze alarms and skip songs with the wave of a hand.

Android 10 And 90 Hz Display
While most phones have a 60 Hz display (60 frames per second), Pixel 4 might have a 90 Hz (90 frames per second) display. If that’s true, Pixel 4 will join the league of One Plus 7Pro. What’s more? As with the previous Pixel phones, Pixel 4 might run on the latest Android OS - Android 10. The latest Android OS will have systemwide dark mode, better facial recognition and enhanced security.
Powerful Specs And Camera
With a focus on high-quality photography, Pixel 4 is likely to have a dual rear camera and a single front-facing camera. The phones may have a Snapdragon 855 processor. One of the biggest points of criticism in the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL was that the phones only had 4 GB RAM. Google has reportedly stepped up its game, and the Pixel 4 and 4 XL are likely to come with a 6 GB RAM variant.

Google Pixel Buds 2
For the uninitiated, Google Pixel Buds consist of two earphones connected to each other with a wire but they connect with the phone via Bluetooth. According to 9to5Google, Google Pixel Buds 2 could be in the works and might be launched at the Pixel 4 event.
Google Pixelbook 2
The original Google Pixelbook is over 2 years old and now would be the right time for an update. With a codename Atlas, Google Pixelbook 2 is expected to have a 4K display, thinner bezels and more colour options.
