Orange Is The New Black

Black is so passé and orange is the new ‘cool’. This is not a ‘leak’ per se because Google confirmed the news via a billboard at Times Square in New York. The billboard showed the phones in orange colour, indicating that either the Pixel 4 or 4 XL will be available in the hue. This also verified the authenticity of an unofficial image posted on Chinese social network Weibo that showed an orange Pixel 4. (Image: Reddit/LousyTx)

The Pixel 4 is likely to sport a 2 rear cameras in a square setup. Leaked images of the phone show a minimalist design with no notch, large foreheads and small chins. The handset is also likely to skip the fingerprint sensor and come with support for Face-ID. Rumours suggest that there will be no front-facing dual speakers.

While most phones have a 60 Hz display (60 frames per second), Pixel 4 might have a 90 Hz (90 frames per second) display. If that’s true, Pixel 4 will join the league of One Plus 7Pro. What’s more? As with the previous Pixel phones, Pixel 4 might run on the latest Android OS - Android 10. The latest Android OS will have systemwide dark mode, better facial recognition and enhanced security.

With a focus on high-quality photography, Pixel 4 is likely to have a dual rear camera and a single front-facing camera. The phones may have a Snapdragon 855 processor. One of the biggest points of criticism in the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL was that the phones only had 4 GB RAM. Google has reportedly stepped up its game, and the Pixel 4 and 4 XL are likely to come with a 6 GB RAM variant.
