Key highlight: 108MP camera

Xiaomi has launched a “premium” phone in India after almost two years. The Mi 10 5G packs in a 108MP camera sensor and the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. Can Xiaomi replicate its success in the premium segment? Let’s find out.

To start with, the 10 5G sports a 6.67-inch full HD+ display with a 1080x2340 pixel resolution. It offers a refresh rate of 90hz, which offers a smooth experience. The display is on a par with other flagship smartphones in the market. The HDR+ certification and the large screen make playing games and watching movies a true delight on the Mi 10 5G.

Being a flagship smartphone, it offers high-end experience. The device packs 8GB of RAM and has two storage variants — 128GB and 256GB. The high RAM capacity and a powerful processor make it easier for the user to play graphic-intensive games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 without any lag. Multi-tasking was also a cakewalk on the Mi 10 5G.

The 10 is the first Xiaomi phone with a 108MP rear camera. The device consists of a quad-camera setup which comprises of 108MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. Selfie lovers will get a 20MP front camera.

It excels in the camera department. The rear camera uses image binning technology and it manages to deliver detailed images with an ample amount of detailing and natural colour reproduction. Along with this, the camera also offers the capability of 10x zoom. The macro lens also works wonderfully when you capture images in that mode. The selfie shooter also manages to deliver real selfies without any artificial beautification.

The Mi 10 5G houses a 4780mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Along with this, the smartphone also offers wireless and reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 5G offers everything that one would want from a flagship smartphone. It has a powerful processor, high-end camera, fast charging and not to miss out on the IR blaster feature from Xiaomi. With a starting price tag of Rs 49,999, it is definitely a good deal. Still, if you are looking for alternatives then OnePlus 8 series or the Realme X50 Pro 5G can be your pick.
