Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, on Tuesday, launched its new version MIUI for Android via a livestream.

The new software update comes with better and improved AI-backed Dark Mode 2.0, new always-on display themes and privacy options. The new Dark Mode will work with all third-party apps.

Users will also get to enjoy several new multi-tasking features. The new software will allow you to minimise a window and hang it on one of the corners when you are working on another window. There's also the option of floating windows.

Xiaomi has also paid special attention to ensure that your phone lasts longer with Ultra Battery Saver, that will make your device work 5 times longer on standby when there's only 5% power left.

You can now bid farewell to all those wires with MIUI 12's built-in universal casting tool.

To make understanding stats easy, MIUI 12 will transform numbers into carefully designed graphs and charts.

The Weather app will bring the outside environment to your phone. Rain, sunshine, snow, and instantaneous weather changes are all displayed in a real-time manner on your screen.

Giving that privacy is the need of the hour, the new update comes with a Permission Notification feature for sensitive app behaviours. "When camera, microphone and location are running in the background, a bright notification icon will be shown on the status bar. You can disable those permissions in a tap," the company said in a tweet.

You can also remove locations from photos before sharing them. The software will roll out from June for 5 Xiaomi phones.
