Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2018 is all set to host 95 art projects, majority of them by women. Kickstarting on December 12, the Biennale will also have ‘infraprojects’, a model that was non-existent in the previous three editions of this contemporary art event. The Biennale’s infra-projects are novel assemblages of artworks put together by external curators within the framework and spirit of the Biennale.
Five such projects have been included in the Biennale by invitation of Anita Dube, the curator and artistic director of the festival. The series of events shall come to an end on March 29 next year in 2019. The upcoming KMB has expanded the exhibition model to include an interactive Pavilion, which permits visitors to share and initiate dialogue, as a learning experiment.
