Bullion counters were flat on Monday on domestic bourses as US and China signed an interim trade deal luring investors towards riskier assets.

Equity indices continued their rally from Friday to Monday and were trading shy of their all-time highs.

MCX Gold (Feb) futures were up 0.04 per cent to Rs 37,787, while MCX Silver (Mar) futures were up 0.28 per cent to Rs 44,250.

Bullion counters may trade sideways, said brokerage SMC Global. Gold can dip towards Rs 37,500 while facing resistance near Rs 37,900 and silver can dip towards Rs 43,400 while facing resistance near Rs 44,450, it added.

In the US markets, gold prices edged lower on Monday after US and China agreed to a "phase one" trade deal, although a weaker dollar limited some of bullion's losses.
