Hi there, this is Kuheena Sharma from ETMarkets.com, and welcome to our special weekend podcast.
The domestic equity indices scaled their fresh record highs in Calendar 2019 despite persistent weakness in the broader market. While Sensex and Nifty gained more than 10 per cent each for the year, the midcap and smallcap indices declined up to 10 per cent.
Analysts who took part in a yearend survey conducted by ETMarkets.com on an average have a target of 13,209 for Nifty and 46,050 for Sensex for yearend of 2020. They also expect the broader market to recover and outperform the benchmark indices in 2020.
We have with us Siddharth Khema of Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Ajit Mishra from Religare Broking, Manav Chopra from Indiabulls Ventures and G Chokkalingam from Equinomics Research to share their views on how they expect the market to behave in Calendar 2020, and which midcap and smallcap stocks are looking attractive for the New Year.
Gentlemen, welcome to the show. Let’s start with Siddharth.
Considering the ongoing momentum on Dalal Street, how do you see the market in 2020?
1. Mr Chokkalingam, can you share your top picks for next year?
2. Over to you Ajit
3. Thank you, Ajit for sharing the list. Which are your top picks for 2020, Manav?
That’s it in this week’s edition of special weekend podcast. Do come back next Saturday for this weekly special. You can check out our regular podcasts on the equity market twice every week day. Until then, wishing all the listener from the Weekend Podcast desk a Very Happy New Year
