Buzzing stocks: Axis Bank, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ICICI Bank

NEW DELHI: Uttam Value Steel with over 0.59 crore shares changing hands was leading among the most traded stocks on NSE on Wednesday.

Shares of Axis Bank (number of shares traded: 0.19 crore), Jaypee Infra (number of shares traded: 0.16 crore), Vodafone Idea (number of shares traded: 0.12 crore), YES Bank (number of shares traded: 0.08 crore), GTL Infra (number of shares traded: 0.08 crore), Dish TV India (number of shares traded: 0.06 crore), RattanIndia Infra (number of shares traded: 0.06 crore), Axiscades Engineering (number of shares traded: 0.05 crore) and IRB InvIT Fund (number of shares traded: 0.05 crore) also featured among the most traded stocks on the NSE.

Axis Bank (Rs 129.51 crore) was leading the pack of most active stocks in value terms.

It was followed by Honeywell Automation (Rs 19.47 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 13.68 crore), RIL (Rs 9.78 crore), Hero MotoCorp (Rs 9.37 crore), Tech Mahindra (Rs 8.29 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 8.21 crore), RBL Bank (Rs 7.56 crore), IndusInd Bank (Rs 7.33 crore) and YES Bank (Rs 6.93 crore).

The NSE Nifty index was trading 56.05 points down at 11,029.35 while the BSE Sensex was down 158.83 points at 37,238.41 around 09:16 am.

In the Nifty index, Wipro (up 0.38 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 0.35 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.23 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 0.18 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Tech Mahindra (down 3.08 per cent), Axis Bank (down 2.23 per cent), Hindalco Industries (down 1.47 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.32 per cent) and Bharti Infratel (down 1.32 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
