Sensex down; RIL, Yes Bank among most active stocks in terms of value on NSE

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market was trading with losses in afternoon trade on Monday.

Shares of RIL (Rs 268.89 crore), BPCL (Rs 218.71 crore), Divis Laboratories (Rs 181.89 crore), Yes Bank (Rs 145.31 crore), Indian Oil Corp (Rs 143.53 crore), Ibull HousingFin (Rs 134.54 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 123.93 crore), SBI (Rs 123.37 crore), Axis Bank (Rs 97.32 crore), Tata Motors (Rs 95.47 crore), HDFC (Rs 88.17 crore), and HPCL (Rs 87.80 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE.

The NSE Nifty was down 5.35 points at 9,192 around 12.45 pm (IST).

In the Nifty 50 index, Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 2.09 per cent), Asian Paints (down 1.12 per cent), HDFC (down 0.79 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.62 per cent), Wipro (down 0.60 per cent), Hind. Unilever (down 0.59 per cent), GAIL (down 0.53 per cent), Lupin (down 0.50 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.48 per cent), Dr Reddy's Labs (down 0.46 per cent), M&M (down 0.42 per cent), and Tata Power (down 0.40 per cent) were among the top losers.

On the other hand, BPCL (up 3.86 per cent), Indian Oil Corp (up 2.93 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 2.91 per cent), Yes Bank (up 2.12 per cent), Coal India Ltd (up 1.27 per cent), Grasim Inds. (up 1.13 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.05 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.81 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.79 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.73 per cent), Zee Ent. (up 0.66 per cent) and Ambuja Cements (up 0.64 per cent) were trading in the green around 11.30 am (IST).

Most active stocks in terms of value help investors identify the stocks with the highest trading turnover during the day.

Shares of Jindal Worldwide, Pneumatic Holdings, Hindustan Comp, Archies, Electrosteel, Vascon Engineer, Websol Energy, Nath Bio-Genes, Aditya Birla Money, Bhushan Steel, Madras Fert and STEL Holdings hit their fresh 52-week high during the first half of trade.

On the other hand, VKS Projects, Farmax India, Rasoya Proteins, Nagarjuna Agri, Cigniti Tech, Persistent Systems, Capital Trust, TTK Healthcare, Shekhawati Poly, FCS Software, and Gallantt Ispat hit their new 52-week low levels.
