    Share market update: PSU bank shares slip; Syndicate Bank dips 1%

    Synopsis

    The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.75 per cent down at 2442.55 around 10:48 am.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

    NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with losses in Wednesday's morning session.

    Shares of Syndicate Bank (down 1.46 per cent) , Union Bank of India (down 1.27 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 1.23 per cent) and Bank of India (down 0.82 per cent) were trading lower.

    Central Bank of India (down 0.74 per cent) , Canara Bank (down 0.59 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 0.47 per cent) and Allahabad Bank (down 0.39 per cent) too were trading with losses.

    The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.75 per cent down at 2442.55 around 10:48 am.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 7 points at 11,920.45 while the BSE Sensex was up 31.76 points at 40,376.84.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

    Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, BHEL, SAIL, DLF, RBL Bank Ltd., JSPL and IDFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Yes bank stock is in limelight again. The chairman of Hero Corporate Services Ltd, Sunil Munjal and veteran investment banker and founder of DSP Group, Hemendra Kothari, likely to pick 5-10% stake each in the Yes Bank. It will be a positive factor for cash- starved private lender. But the stock has become a Risk-Reward stock with heavy proportion of risk.
