    NEW DELHI: Shares of Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd. traded 0.7 per cent down in Friday's trade at 01:44PM (IST). Around 61,539 shares changed hands on the counter.

    The stock opened at Rs 702.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 709.8 and Rs 689.75, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 1366.9 and a 52-week low of Rs 440.0.

    The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 4168.42 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, down 2.74 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 4286.04 crore and down 7.67 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 3871.33 crore.

    The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 224.35 crore, down 70.05 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

    As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 1.75 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 64.66 per cent and the promoters 26.25 per cent.

    Valuation ratio
    According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 6.29 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.87. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
