    Stock market update: Bank stocks fall; ICICI Bank loses 2%

    Synopsis

    The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.87 per cent down at 22378.1.

    Out of the 12 stocks in the index, 1 was trading in the green while 11 were trading in the red.

    NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading on a negative note at 12:44PM (IST) on Thursday.

    Shares of Federal Bank (down 1.87 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.64 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 1.61 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 1.51 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 1.29 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

    While Bandhan Bank (up 0.31 per cent) was the sole gainer.

    The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.87 per cent down at 22378.1 around 12:44PM.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 76.55 points at 11528, while the BSE Sensex was down 265.02 points at 39037.83.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Tata Steel (PP), J B Chem, MphasiS, Indiabulls Ventures (PP) and Vinati Organics hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Kuantum Papers Ltd. and Blue Chip India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
