Mutual fund combination
I am currently investing in following mutual funds through SIP:
ICICI Prudential Long Term Equity Fund: Rs 1,000 (for the past 3 years)
Kotak Tax Saver Regular Plan: Rs 2,000 (8 months)
UTI Nifty Index Fund: Rs 2,000 (8 months)
Kotak India EQ Contra Fund: Rs 2,000 (8 months)
IDFC Bond Fund Short Term Plan: Rs 5,000 (3 months)

My goals are:
I want to create emergency fund of Rs 1 lakh.

Retirement corpus in next 25 years: Rs 5 crore.
I can take moderately high risk.

Please review if these funds are in line with my goals. Do I need to make any changes?

You are currently investing Rs 7,000 in equity mutual funds and Rs 5,000 in a debt mutual funds. We believe you are investing in debt mutual funds to build your emergency fund. Assuming an annual return of 12%, you would be able to create Rs 35.32 lakh at the end of 15 years. At the end 25 years, if you hold on to your investment and continue with your regular investments, you will have Rs 82 lakh. Clearly, you need to invest more to meet your retirement target.

However, a word of caution. Do not assume that a nice round figure would be enough to take care of your future financial goals. You should always work with real numbers, inflation, taxes to calculate a realistic target. For more, view:

You are currently investing in two tax saving or ELSS funds and a value fund and index scheme. The portfolio is not sharply focused. Try to define your risk profile clearly, and realign your portfolio. If you are not clear about investing in mutual funds, seek the help of a mutual fund advisor.
