A power-packed audience witnessed this year’s most effective companies and leaders receive India’s premiere corporate awards.
The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence, 2019, was addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and hosted interactive sessions with Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal.
The winners were decided by a star-studded jury who voted for quality growth, corporate governance and long term vision.
India can be the oasis of growth amid global turmoil, says Piyush Goyal, minister for commerce and industry and railways.
Narendra Modi government would implement the law fairly and uniformly without adopting a different yardstick simply because it involves a foreign investor or company that has made a huge investment.
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government responded rapidly to concerns raised by industry in the second quarter, although perhaps “not adequately” in some instances.
Home minister Amit Shah said the government is capable of overcoming economic challenges as it has the vision, capacity and political will to take bold decisions, dismissing the “fear psychosis” that is being created.
