NEW DELHI [INDIA]: Indian Army Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh on Thursday said that the Indian Army has not conducted any action in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

"Reports of Indian Army's action in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) across the Line of Control are fake," Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh said.

The DGMO had to react as news reports suggested that the Indian Army had carried out precision strikes against terrorists in PoK.

The PTI story was based on analysis of the Ceasefire Violations (CFV) that took place on November 13.

It is clarified that there has been no firing or CFV in LC on November 19.

But Pakistani Rangers opened fire and shelled border out posts (BoPs) and hamlets along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, leaving a woman injured, officials said on November 19.

The Pakistani troops targeted several BoPs and few hamlets in Manyari, Sapwal and Karol Krishna on late Wednesday night, prompting an effective retaliation by the BSF, the officials said.

In the exchange of fire, which continued till this morning, one woman suffered injuries at Manyari village, they said.

The shelling has triggered panic among border residents.

"We have been facing heavy firing and shelling each night. It has become a regular feature", Manyari resident Kuldeep said.

@ A kumar Army may have been given powers but they were toothless because at all times they were told to hold back in the face of repeated terrorist attacks. Also, did the INC ever give the Army the proper war weaponry to fight wars. I recall for Bofors and we all know what they did. Why was the pension of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw withheld by Mrs Gandhi despite the fact that perhaps he was one of the best military personnel India ever had ? The answer was because he did not dance to the lady PM'S tune. You talk of the INC people giving our Army men their due. Who sent our Army to be slaughtered by LTTE militia without even consulting the Indian Army General then? Of course Mr Rajiv Gandhi who thought India, Indians and the Indian Army were his fiefdom. The INC never wanted our kargil martyrs to be returned back home and hence the stink about the coffin scam. They never wanted the IAF to get the Rafael and hence uproar on the Rafael purchase.
I respect our multicultural, disciplied, apolitical Army but you will realise that our Armed forces are always given a raw deal by the INC and some of our own people. It hurts.

@ Sandeep please be informed that China is already being given a befitting reply by India. Unlike the past INC regime, the Indian Armed forces have not been sent on the border wearing canvas shoes in freezing weather and without ammunition. Also, not all wars are won in the battlefield. It is won when you have defeated your enemy's morale repeatedly over a period of time. China is already on the negotiating table and Pakistan is howling about how India is destroying regional peace and stability i.e not acting like the sacrificial goat it is supposed to be
Also, the Indian Armed forces have already crushed Pakistan in 1971 but it was Mrs Gandhi who for some reason never agreed to resolve the kashmir issue before releasing the 90,000 pakistani prisoners of war. In the interest of India not being seen as an aggressor to the outside world (diplomacy) please request Pakistan to attack India during the Modi regime (not sure about the other Indian leaders) and then your wish of Pakistan being reunited with its parent country would be fulfilled.
Also, recall that it was the INC wisecracks who agreed to India's division just because the INC could not agree to making Mr Jinnah the first prime minister of India.
