Rafale deal: Report claims Dassault given offset 'waivers', govt sources rebut

After a newspaper report cited that the government 'gave exceptional and unprecedented waivers' to French defence major Dassault Aviation and MBDA in the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets, sources in government told Times Now channel that the clauses were 'tweaked' as they 'were rigid' and were not resulting in effective discharge of offset obligations. Sources told Times Now that the changes were carried out 'to benefit' the country and for the effective discharge of offset obligation.
