    Thailand's sugar production to fall by 4 million tonnes

    Pune: Thanks to very dry weather conditions, sugar production of Thailand in 2019-20 will fall by 4 million tonnes over previous year, said Rangsit Hiangrat, director general, Thai Sugar Miller's Corporation.

    Decline in sugar production of Thailand along with India is expected help improve world sugar prices.

    Along with the dry weather, the shifting of sugarcane farmers to cassava crop has also resulted in decrease in sugarcane production in Thailand.
