China and India have decided to establish a high-level economic and trade dialogue mechanism to step up engagement. New Delhi’s aim is to narrow down its trade deficit with Beijing by boosting exports while at the same time seeking more Chinese investments. But will China address India’s concerns? A lot will depend on some give and take in other areas, such as a favourable Indian decision on Huawei with regard to 5G technology. ET takes a look.
