Uttar Pradesh is building a new expressway which is expected to be India's longest once finished with a total distance of 340.824 km. It will have six lanes which can be expanded to eight lanes in future.

The expressway, which originates from Chand Sarai village of Lucknow district, will run till Haidaria village of UP-Bihar border, in district Ghazipur. The expressway will connect nine districts of UP, namely: Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur.

The expressway is being made at a cost of Rs. 22,494.66 crore which includes the cost of land. Once done, it is expected to give a huge filip to the state's economy. The expressway will give faster modes of transportation to the most backward regions of the country and is expected to give a huge boost to the state's agriculture, commerce, tourism and other industrial development.
