IEPFA launches investor helpline

Corporate affairs secretary Injeti Srinivas said that the helpline was set up was a major step to address the concerns of various claimants, according to a government release. The helpline was an initiative by the IEPFA with the help of Common Services Centre (CSC) e-Gov SPV under the IT and electronics ministry.

NEW DELHI: The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) on Wednesday launched a new helpline for investors allowing them to track the status of their refund claims. All companies are required to transfer all unclaimed shares, dividends and deposits to the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority if they remain unclaimed for seven years. The national helpline number 1800-114-667 will be manned by a dedicated call centre which was also inaugurated on Wednesday.

Corporate affairs secretary Injeti Srinivas who inaugurated the helpline ,said that the helpline was set up was a major step to address the concerns of various claimants, according to a government release. The release added that the helpline was an initiative by the IEPFA with the help of Common Services Centre (CSC) e-Gov SPV under the IT and electronics ministry.

Dinesh Kumar Tyagi, CEO of CSC e-Gov said that the SPV would provide hosting and support as well as training support for the application. Callers will be able to both track the status of their refund claims on the helpline and report suspicious claims.
