Exit Poll Results 2019: Projections from Lok Sabha seats in South India
The Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu this time were fought between the AIADMK and DMK led fronts but without the presence of their iconic leaders Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi.

A Times Now-VMR exit poll has predicted that the AIADMK and BJP alliance will be reduced to just 9 seats, down from the 37 seats that the AIADMK got in the last elections in 2014.

The poll has forecast that the DMK and Congress' alliance is projected to win 29 seats, a massive boost for MK Stalin who is also eyeing to win the 22 assembly seats that went for bypolls along with the Lok Sabha polls.

Parties 2019 (Exit polls projection) 2014 (actual seats)
DMK+Cong 29 Nil
AIADMK+BJP 9 37

AIADMK, which split into two after Jayalalithaa's death, is fighting the polls in alliance with the BJP and other regional outfits including PMK and DMDK among others.

The party had swept the 2014 elections winning 37 of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.

A resurgent DMK is hoping to ride back to power in the state as bypolls to 22 Assembly elections have also been held results of which will be announced along with the Lok Sabha results on May 23.

The DMK is fighting the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with the Congress and other regional parties including MDMK and CPI among others.

The other two players in the fray are TTV Dhinakaran's AMMK and Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM).
