14 Independent candidates could be critical to Rajasthan govt formation

Of the 14 constituencies where Independents are leading over 50% of these - 8 of the 14 are battles against BJP candidates.

Congress veteran Ashok Gehlot has been quick to drop the first invitation saying that the party's doors are open to all.
With Congress leading in Rajasthan but with a narrow margin, the role of independents could be critical to government formation.Congress is leading in 94 constituencies and BJP is ahead on 80 seats while as many as 14 Independents are surging ahead.

Of the 14 constituencies where Independents are leading over 50% of these - 8 of the 14 are battles against BJP candidates.

Congress veteran Ashok Gehlot has been quick to drop the first invitation saying that the party's doors are open to all.

In Dudu, Babulal Nagar is leading against Dr Prem Chand Bairwa of BJP BY 2359 votes, in Gangapur it is Ramkesh leading against BJP’s Mansingh Gurjar by over 19,000 votes. It is Ramila Khadiya leading against BJP’s Bhima Bai by 5470 votes in Kushalgarh while in Phalodi, Independent Kumbh Singh is surging ahead of BJP’s Pabba Ram by 4822 votes. Sirohi is witnessing independent Sanyam Lodha overtaking BJP’s Otaram Devasi by 7449 votes. In Marwar Junction, Khushveer Singh is inching up against BJP’s Kesaram Choudhary by a narrow 22 votes and in Kishangarh, Suresh Tak is leading against BJP’s Vikash Choudhary by 9347 votes while in Mahuwa Om Prakash Khudwa has sped ahead of BJP's Rajendra by 1543 votes.

In case of three constituencies- Behror, Ganganagar and Khandela, the fight is between independents and Congress candidates with , Baljeet Yadav leading against Congress’ Ramchandra Yadav by 3100 votes in Behror, Raj Kumar Gaur leading against Ashok Chandak of Congress by 3507 votes in Ganaganagar and , Mahadeo Singh leading against Congress’ Subhash Meel by 3671 votes in Khandela.

In Bassi and Thangazi it is a fight between independents while Bharatpur has Dalveer Singh giving a scare to RLD’s Subhash Garg.
