On the wafer-thin majority, Pilot said that the performance of Congress should not be underrated as it has done a commendable job in reaching to this level.
Hours before the Congress announced a chief minister in Rajasthan, one of the strong contenders and party state chief Sachin Pilot said the first thing the new incumbent would do would be to waive off farm debts.

“Rahul Gandhiji has promised to roll out loan waiver for farmers within 10 days of government formation. We are committed to it,” he said on his way to the Congress Legislature Party meeting which will discuss the name of the CM. The Congress is likely to decide its chief minister for Rajasthan by 5 pm and would stake its claim before the Governor around 7 pm.

Pilot said that the party would also work towards providing employment to youth, which was the main agenda in the manifesto.

“There are 65 lakh first time voters in Rajasthan, who have voted for Congress overwhelmingly. We will try to provide them jobs and other assistance for self employment options,” he said.

On the wafer-thin majority, Pilot said that the performance of Congress should not be underrated as it has done a commendable job in reaching to this level.

“Remember where were we in 2013. From 21 seats to 99, we have travelled a long way and BJP from 163 to 73, they have lost 90 MLAs. We fought hard on the roads for people. We were beaten badly by administration several times but we kept on fighting for people’s right and here are we,” he said.
