    Donald Trump is one of the oldest serving Presidents, having taken the oath when he was 70 years old. A businessman and real estate mogul, Trump is the only President to not have any military or government service prior to taking office.

    The incumbent President of the United States, Donald J Trump was elected to office in 2016, beating Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. This time around, he is fighting to stay in office till 2024 and is up against former Vice President Joe Biden.

    Trump is one of the oldest serving Presidents, having taken the oath when he was 70 years old. A businessman and real estate mogul, Trump is the only President to not have any military or government service prior to taking office.

    Previously a Democrat, he registered as Republican in 2009.

    During his Presidency, Trump has taken an anti-immigrant stand, enforcing multiple border restrictions and deporting just shy of 8,00,000 people in his first three years of office. He also pulled America out of the Paris Climate Accord, underscoring a message of energy independence, he has strongly refuted climate change.

    Running under the ‘Make America Great’ campaign, Trump promised economic reform, simplifying taxation and cutting the corporate tax rate to 21%, while also leading an economic boom, until it fell flat due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    During his term, he has also launched a trade war against China, and repealed President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. With Trump incharge, America’s debt has risen to $26 trillion from $19 trillion before he took office.

    The President made his net worth largely from the real estate business, leasing out marquee buildings in an inflated New York real estate market. Forbes’ estimates put his net worth at $2 billion, while his personal claims are closer to $10 billion. He is also reportedly in debt of over $265 million.

    President Trump - and his businesses - are also involved in various lawsuits. As of April 2018, Trump and his businesses had been involved in more than 4,000 state and federal legal actions, according to a running tally by USA Today.
