Ac should be standard equipment in railway coaches now.

Shocking. Railways should immediately discontinue induction of non AC coaches - and instead go for low cost AC coaches. Further, it should investigate if the existing non-AC coaches can be retrofitted with air cooling devices and the roofs can be made reflective to avoid excessive heating

Arun Sharma (Ahmedabad)

Heat is extreme in the Central and North India. Kerala people are not used to this even North Indians are finding it unbearable. Travelling by non air conditioned buses or trains during day time is very uncomfortable and can cause severe dehydration. Even ACs of trains are failing. Long distance travel in north and central India should be avoided for a month.

Phase out all non-Ac compartments. Use full AC trains. Even for general, give AC bogies without reservation. This much is deserved by every Indian.

plenty of water should be provided in trains.
