Banda Apna Sahi Hai: BJP's 'Gully Boy' inspired rap on Narendra Modi
Rap songs have become the new preferred mode of campaigning for Indian political parties. In an innovative form of campaigning to target youth, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has released a rap song video -- Banda Apna Sahi Hai -- on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the last five years, the 2 minute 38-second rap video praises Modi as the right person for the country and praises the good work done by the Prime Minister including action against corruption, power to all, gas connections under Ujjwala scheme, construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, surgical strikes etc.

The video has come on the eve of release of Ranvir Kapoor and Alia Bhat starer Gully Boy movie released today.

BJP fans had also released another rap video in January extolling the achievements of Modi government.

In reply to that, Congress members also released a rap video on Rahul Gandhi on twitter. A compiled video of images of Rahul Gandhi, played to the new rap hit Apna Time Aayega (Our Time Will Come), based on the Gully Boy song.

In the last 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had used the social media platform very aggressively to drive different campaign for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and against the incumbent Congress government. The party gained huge success on social media. Following the success of the saffron party almost all parties across the country now have active social media cell.

In 2013, a “NaMo youth anthem” was also released, referring to Modi as the “last air bender”.
