    Epidemic Diseases Act to be used against people fleeing quarantine, says Anil Deshmukh

    PUNE: Even as chief minister Uddhav Thackeray declared the state to be at 'war against the virus', home minister Anil Deshmukh announced to take strict police action against people who will try to flee the quarantine.

    "Following repeated instances of people fleeing Quarantine/Isolation, the Home Ministry is constrained to ask Maharashtra Police to act against such offenders endangering themselves & everyone else under the Epidemic Diseases Act," tweeted Deshmukh today.
